Timeline of Works

This periodization of the Böll's works provides a guideline to know what were the manuscripts, and thus, the topics in his writing in a given time frame. It corresponds to his idea of "Fortschreibung" (Continous Development), whereby he emphasized the continuity between works and from topic to topic. The lists are from his workbooks, noting what he completed in what order.

 

The late and posthumously published works are therefore given in the period of their original development, not that of the final publication date.
